01Architecture Definition
Translate process sequences into controller workload, local and remote I/O counts, update requirements, communication nodes, and future expansion allowance. The output identifies open decisions instead of hiding them in a preliminary bill of material.
02Compatibility Review
Check supply voltage, terminal assemblies, chassis or DIN rail space, protocol support, firmware dependencies, and interface accessories. Exact applicability must still be verified against current series documentation.
03Migration Planning
Separate reusable field wiring and network assets from items that require conversion. Legacy addressing, scan behavior, safety validation, and scheduled outage windows are documented before replacement work starts.
04Commissioning Support
Prepare power-up checks, network diagnostics, I/O checkout order, backup handling, and fault evidence collection. Site responsibility, remote access, and escalation paths are agreed in advance.
